Aruj Ali, O.D., earned her Bachelor of Science in microbiology with a minor in chemistry from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, graduating summa cum laude. She then completed her Doctorate in Optometry from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, graduating as her class salutatorian, with high honors.
After optometry school, Dr. Ali completed clinical internships at Dr. Lee & Associates in Merced, California; East Boston Neighborhood Clinic in Boston; and Veterans Affairs hospitals in both Mountain Home, Tennessee, and The Villages, Florida.

While at WesternU, Dr. Ali used her skills to help people without access to eye care and completed several mission trips to Mexico and underprivileged communities. She is multilingual, and fluent in English and Urdu. In her free time, Dr. Ali enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with her family.

I took the chance in contacting their office and expected to just leave a message for a return call and was so relieved to be able to select the option for a return call. She called me within five minutes and scheduled a time for me to come in for an evaluation. She did a thorough exam and identified the problem, prescribed medication and I am now on the mend. I will forever be grateful for her expert exam, treatment and quick response. I would give more stars if I could, she is absolutely fantastic. Loved meeting Dr. Mitra and her assistant Iman. All at reception were wonderful and very welcoming. I'm looking forward to my upcoming surgery. Highly recommend! Now I've had my eyelid surgery. Been two months, no complications no issues. Dr. Mitra is exceptional. Would depend on her for any medical need I'd require.
