Dr. Fuerst earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1983 and has been practicing for several decades. Throughout his career, he has been involved in patient care, contact lenses, and dry eye care. He has received recognition from professional organizations and has participated in roles supporting optometric collaboration and education, including work with sports teams and clinical organizations.

Dr. Fuerst is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has served in leadership roles within professional organizations, including the American Optometric Association Cornea and Contact Lens Section. He has experience using diagnostic tools such as optical coherence tomography and retinal imaging as part of patient care.

Dr. Fuerst lives with his wife and three children in Orangevale, California. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family, staying active in the community, and participating in professional organizations such as the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association and the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society.
