Experience & Education

Dr. John M. Okamoto, O.D., earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and received his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. He completed his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he focused on ocular disease and hospital-based optometry. He also spent several years working in an ophthalmology setting.

Dr. John M. Okamoto, O.D., has more than 30 years of experience practicing in the Sacramento Valley. He works with patients with a range of eye care needs, including dry eye and specialty contact lenses, and focuses on providing care based on each patient’s individual needs. He stays current with developments in eye care to support his clinical decision-making.

Outside the office, Dr. John M. Okamoto, O.D., remains active in the Roseville community and continues his involvement in professional education. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, as well as golfing, fishing, and cycling.
